The great leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk always believed in the indisputable role of education in the modernization of Turkey. In his speech at the opening of the Turkish Grand National Assembly on November 1st, 1925, he declared that the advancement of education called for the endeavors of the private sector, and he summoned society to take part in the effort. The Turkish Education Association was established on January 1st, 1928, under Atatürk’s vision and leadership, supported by the founders of the Turkish Republic.
Turkish Education Association is a non-governmental organisation that aims to provide need-based scholarships to successful students, to open schools and dormitories in Turkey and abroad, to establish scientific platforms that will bring Turkish education standards to a high quality level, to raise public awareness on the problems and solutions of the education system and to contribute to the establishment of Turkish education policy.
Why TED opens a school?
The Turkish Education Association believes that education is the most important factor in the economic and social development of a country. TED’s mission is:
• to contribute to development through education,
• to increase the education level of the regions where the schools are located,
• to provide successful children with limited financial resources in their schools.
